The tool
Canopy is free to use. You can design without an account; an account lets you save designs and download their reports.
What its answers are, and are not
Canopy's results are engineering estimates from public weather records, published standards and stated assumptions, every one of which is listed in the tool and can be changed. They are a strong starting point for decisions and for talking to a fabricator, an engineer or a lender. They are not a certified structural design, and they do not replace a site survey, a soil test or a qualified engineer's sign-off before building. You decide what to build; we are not liable for losses from relying on the results alone.
Your account
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Use the tool fairly: no attempts to break into it, overload it or scrape it automatically.
- We may suspend an account that abuses the service.
Your designs
Your designs are yours. We store them to show them back to you and do not claim any rights over them. You can download or delete them at any time; see Privacy.
Changes
The tool improves often, and a saved design may give slightly different results after an update, because the analysis behind it has improved. We may update these terms; the date above says when they last changed.
